With this Announcement we would like to renew our invitation to the XIV. International Congress of The International Committee for the Conservation of the Industrial Heritage (TICCIH) in Freiberg/Germany and provide some further information on the scientific and tour programmes, as well as details concerning the congress organization.
As outlined in the First Announcement from July 2008, the congress is to be held from August 30th to September 5th, 2009 at the Technical University and Mining Academy of Freiberg. On behalf of TICCIH and under the patronage of the Saxon Minister of Science and Arts, the congress is organized by the Institute for History of Science and Technology of the TU Freiberg in collaboration with the German TICCIH group, the Industrial Museum of Saxony and the International Building Exhibition 'Furst-Puckler-Land'. Co-organizers are the Industrial Museums of Rhineland and Westphalia, the German Mining Museum Bochum and the Association for the World Heritage Project 'Mining Landscape Ore Mountains'. The decision of the Programme Committee on accepted papers will be sent out with the Third Announcement in February/March 2009. All information you may need concerning possible topics and the required form of proposals, the application procedure, the congress excursions and tours, on accommodation in Freiberg, the costs of the congress, the city of Freiberg and how to get there can be found in this announcement.
