Hi Wendy,
I have been watching the videos this morning with interest about Wardscorner. Your community sounds very lively and united, and I am impressed by the organisation and structure put in place to debate and develop the right kind of changes there.
Surely there is a potential to renovate the existing market building rather than demolish it, considering the sound structure and the architectural interest. There is already a strong activity and business culture there (food, hairdressers) so this could be extended on the upper levels to other small businesses such as designers, photographer studios, and why not allowing something bigger in the basement extending under the courtyard at the back, such as a music and multimedia store, in order to find a balance for the developer.
The video shows there is also a potential to create this green courtyard at the back with a cafe and new residences, possibly a way to recover some money for the developer, or generate a new public space for the londoners, this would work together with a redesign of the streets, in order to attract more visitors from outside.
Please feel free to post the videos directly on the A&A website, and let us know about the last events using the blog posts.
Sincerely,
Thierry

Hi Wendy,
I just cheked your blog page. The Wardscorner debarcle is extraordinary!
Its amazing to see how sucessful and inspiring the community as been at defending itself against an unwated speculative commercial development. The video of the meeting was really well put together and gives one a good idea of what is going on.
Would be good if you shared more of your work / writing on your profile here.
Thanks again for siging up. I hope that you find lots of interesting things here.
